ABOUT WCI
WASHINGTON CONSULTING, INC. is a management and information
technology consulting organization providing services
to commercial and public sector clients. Headquartered
in the Washington D.C. metropolitan area, we specialize
in the development and integration of innovative business
solutions and management services for the federal government
and Fortune 1000 organizations. Our two divisions allow
us to effectively serve both the commercial and public
sectors, and leverage our expertise across both divisions
to deploy the best resources and solutions for our clients.
We view each client as a strategic partner because our
success is measured only by the achievements of our
clients.
On February 24, 2006, Washington Consulting was acquired by Alion Science and Technology. We will continue to operate from our current locations as "Washington Consulting, an Alion Company."
As a wholly owned subsidiary of Alion, we have access to an increased set of services and resources, allowing us to provide a broader range of proven strategies and advanced technical capabilities. We remain focused on helping customers increase their productivity and profitability.

Our Organization
Our commercial group provides management consulting
and information technology solutions to our clients.
We have worked with executive teams across many industries
to deliver strategic and tactical business solutions.
Our primary focus is on delivering successful enterprise
IT programs while helping IT departments deliver measurable
business results, changing from a "cost center"
to a profit and service driven organization. We are
successful in the IT arena because we strive to understand
our clients' businesses and know that technology is
simply a means to an end.
Our public sector group has been established to develop
long-term relationships within the federal government,
focusing on civilian agencies, the intelligence community
and the Department of Defense. We work as members of
our customers' teams, providing extensive government
IT and operational experience. Our public sector consultants
possess decades of experience teaming with government
agencies to provide IT solutions that make better use
of increasingly limited budgets while mitigating risks,
optimizing operational processes and eliminating redundancies.
Our Mission
Our mission is central to our corporate culture: we
want to build the best consulting practice in the Washington
market, achieving a 'trusted advisor' relationship with
our commercial and public sector clients. Our approach
to establishing and maintaining long-term client relationships
is based on the following:
|
Deliver Value - we establish the value proposition
of our services at the outset of every engagement
and assume responsibility for exceeding goals
and expectations. We are uniquely positioned to
provide our clients with significant solution
and industry expertise within a very competitive
fee structure.
Guarantee our services - unlike the vast majority
of our competitors, we guarantee client satisfaction.
We pursue a rigorous quality assurance process
with our employees and our clients.
Simplify the relationship - we make it easy
to conduct business with Washington Consulting.
Our model promotes staffing, scope and pricing
flexibility - it's our job to adapt to our clients'
evolving needs.
"Be local" - like the majority of
our clients, we are headquartered in the Washington
Metropolitan area. We pride ourselves in being
an active part of the community, participating
in many worthwhile business and community service
ventures. We are also dedicated to serving our
customers outside the Washington area, and strive
to provide those clients with resources local
to that market. We believe that maintaining a
presence within close proximity of our clientele
helps to foster a team dedicated to understanding
our clients' businesses quickly and comprehensively.

Our People
One key differentiator in the marketplace is our people.
We have consultants experienced in both the public sector
and commercial marketplace. More than 80% of our staff
have computer science or engineering backgrounds, and
over 30% have doctoral or master's degrees. We attract
and retain the best talent by focusing on the local
market and rewarding our people based on their contribution
to their clients' successes and to our company, in contrast
with today's large consulting firms.
